Dogma
Q: Hi Lilith, how are you?
L: I'm very good, how's yourself?
Q: Good, thank you. So, to clear up any confusion, give us a brief history of who of you were in Dogma, and how Vindicta came to be.
L: I was the vocalist, then the guitarist, Lamia, and the other guitarist was Rusalka. The three of us were in Dogma since the first tour, up until the latest, biggest line-up change. And after many injustices, the three of us were not involved with the project anymore, so we decided to bring it forward by partnering with Dogma's co-founder, who had experienced an even worse betrayal up until then.
Q: So you performed at Bloodstock, was that right?
L: Yeah.
Q: Nice to know I saw you then: I was at that show. Who wrote the songs in Dogma?
L: This co-founder that we partnered with, Alvaro Rabaquino, is the composer of all of the songs.
Q: Did you play on the album or have a hand in the production?
L: No. Nobody from his lineup or from the actual band ever did anything on the tracks. The singer, I think, was a ghost, was hired to sing on the album, but she never performed with them, maybe she wasn’t into the music. My understanding is that a producer in South America recorded the majority of it with the help of Alvaro. That's what I understood but nobody from the band recorded it. I only sang ’Like A Prayer as that was recorded after I joined the band.
Q: That’s for clarifying all that. I've seen the statements on social media about the terms and conditions and the treatment of the band which is Dickensian. It's hard enough for women in rock to get their due cause anyway but this was just ridiculous.
L: Yeah. It was psychologically difficult for most. Of course, everybody had a different perspective of what they suffered but for me personally, it was psychologically difficult.
Vindicta
Q: Let's talk Vindicta. First up, how is Medea settling in? She's quite a player.
L: Yeah! She's so good. When I saw her play, I was really moved by her stage presence and so we called her. We were really happy that she wanted to join the band and also our drummer, Kali who joined the band right before.
Q: our first single is out this month, The Face of a Clown. No prizes for guessing who that's about. How many of the songs have you written or are working on?
L: We are working on a concept album; each song to tell a story. We want to tell a story and every album from now on will have a narrative arc and me, Lami and Rusalka are getting together to develop it. Right now we're working on a few singles.
Q: So what will you have out when you start the tour?
L: A few more singles and a few surprises.
Q: You're all excellent musicians and I've no doubt you can handle it but you’re not starting off with a few local gigs. You're being plunged straight into a world tour. Is that a bit daunting?
L: No! Actually we're very excited and super-driven so diving right into a world tour is the perfect way to start especially for the three of us, after performing for so long together. We're already a well-oiled machine and the chemistry we have, it's an explosive outlet.
Q: Good and how much rehearsal time are you going to get because this is a really tight time now.
L: Yeah especially because we're all in different countries and continents but I think everybody is so talented that we won't need more than three or four days. That's what we have planned for now.
Q: You'll do it but even if you've got another four singles out, that's still quite a short set so without giving too much away, what else would you be doing?
L: We're playing all the Dogma songs from the first album.
Q: Oh, great!
L: Yeah because we’re partnered with the co-founder, so we have the right to play all the songs as they are his. They're in his name. He owns the rights to them. Of course, we’ll be playing the new Vindicta singles that we'll be dropping with ‘Face Of A Clown’. It's going to be at least an hour and 20 minutes that way.
Q: There is a meet and greet in Japan, so you'll have merch on sale to get signed?
L: Oh, yeah! We'll have a lot of merch!
Q: So, finally, have any of you been here before, and is there anything you'd like to do?
L: No, I've never been to Japan, but honestly, it has been on my bucket list forever, so I'm really, really excited and I think performing there with Vidicta exceeds all of my expectations. I just want to do all the things that you want to do when you first visit a place. We won't have a lot of time, but I think walking around Tokyo by night will be an amazing experience.

Q: リリス、こんにちは。お元気ですか？
L：とても元気ですよ。あなたは？
Q: はい、ありがとうございます。では、誤解がないように、まず＜Dogma（ドグマ）＞のメンバー構成や、＜Vindicta（ヴィンディクタ）＞がどのように結成されたのか、簡単に経緯を教えてください。
L：私はボーカルで、それからギタリストのラミア、もう一人のギタリストはルサルカでした。私たち3人は、最初のツアーから、直近の、そして最大規模のメンバー変更が行われるまで、Dogmaに在籍していました。そして、数々の不当な扱いを受けた末、私たち3人はプロジェクトから離れることになりました。そこで、それまでさらに酷い裏切りを経験していたDogmaの共同創設者と手を組み、このプロジェクトを前進させることにしたのです。
Q: 「ブラッドストック」に出演したんですよね、そうでした？
L：はい。
Q：そうか、あの時あなたたちを見かけたんです。私もそのライブにいました。＜Dogma＞の曲は誰が書いたのですか？
L：私たちがパートナーを組んだ共同創設者のアルバロ・ラバキーノが、すべての曲を作曲しています。
Q: そのアルバムで演奏したり、制作に関わったりしましたか？
L：いいえ。彼のラインナップや実際のバンドのメンバーで、その曲に関わった人は誰もいません。ボーカルは、いわゆる「ゴーストシンガー」だったと思います。アルバムで歌うために雇われたのですが、彼女はそのバンドと一緒に演奏したことは一度もありません。たぶん、その音楽に共感できなかったのでしょう。私の理解では、南米のプロデューサーがアルバロの協力を得て、その大部分を録音したんです。そう聞いてはいるけど、バンドのメンバーは誰も録音には関わっていない。私が歌ったのは「Like A Prayer」だけ。あれは私がバンドに加入してから録音された曲ですからね。
Q: その件について詳しく説明してくれてありがとう。ソーシャルメディアで、契約条件やバンドへの扱いがまるでディケンズ小説のようだといった声を見かけましたよ。ロック界の女性たちが正当な評価を得るのは、元々難しいことなのに、これはもうとんでもない話だった。
L：そうね。ほとんどのメンバーにとって、精神的にきついものでした。もちろん、それぞれが経験した苦しみに対する見方は違っていたけど、私個人としては、精神的に本当に辛かった。
ヴィンディクタ
Q: ＜Vindicta＞について話しましょう。まずは、メデアはチームに馴染んできましたか？彼女はかなりの実力者ですよね
L：そう！彼女は本当に凄いですよ。彼女の演奏を観た時、そのステージ上の存在感に凄く心を動かされて、すぐに声をかけたんです。彼女がバンドに参加したいと言ってくれたこと、それに、その直前に加入したドラマーのカリも喜んでくれたことが、本当に嬉しかった。
Q: 今月、あなたたちのファーストシングル「The Face of a Clown」がリリースされます。誰のことを歌っているかは、言うまでもないでしょう。あなたが作詞・作曲した曲、あるいは現在制作中の曲はいくつありますか？
L：私たちはコンセプトアルバムを制作中です。各曲がひとつの物語を紡ぐような構成になっています。物語を紡ぎたいと思っていて、これからのアルバムにはすべて物語の展開がある予定です。私とラミ、ルサルカで集まってそれを練り上げています。今はいくつかのシングル曲に取り組んでいるところです。
Q: では、ツアー開始時にはどんな作品をリリースする予定ですか？
L：シングルをもう数曲と、いくつかサプライズを用意しています。
Q：皆さんは素晴らしいミュージシャンですし、きっとうまくやっていけると思いますが、地元のライブから始めるわけではなく、いきなりワールドツアーに突入するわけですよね。少し気が重くありませんか？
L：いいえ！実はすごくワクワクしているし、やる気も最高潮だから、ワールドツアーにいきなり飛び込むのは、特に私たち3人にとっては、長い間一緒に演奏してきたからこそ、最高のスタートの仕方だと思うんです。私たちは既に完璧に息の合ったチームだし、その相乗効果は爆発的なエネルギーを生み出すんです。
Q: いいですね。でも、リハーサルの時間はどれくらい取れるのですか？今は本当に時間が厳しいから。
L：そうですね、特にみんなが別々の国や大陸にいるから。でも、みんな凄く才能があるから、3、4日あれば十分だと思います。今のところ、そう予定しています。
Q：それは実現するでしょうが、たとえあと4曲のシングルを出したとしても、セットリストとしてはかなり短いですよね。あまり詳しく話せないと思いますが、他にどんな曲を演奏する予定ですか？
L：1stアルバムの『Dogma』の曲をすべて演奏する予定です。
Q: おお、最高ですね！
L：そう、私たちは共同創設者と提携しているので、彼の曲だから全部演奏する権利があるんです。曲名は彼の名前で登録されてるし、権利も彼が持ってるから。もちろん、「The Face of a Clown」と一緒にリリースするVindictaの新曲も演奏しますよ。そうすれば、少なくとも1時間20分は演奏できるはずです。
Q: 日本でのミート＆グリートがあるそうですが、サインをもらえるグッズも販売されるんですか？
L：ええ、もちろん！グッズはたくさん用意しますよ！
Q：では最後に、以前日本に来たことがある人はいますか？また、やってみたいことはありますか？
L：いいえ、日本には行ったことがありません。でも正直、ずっと行きたいと思っていた場所なので、本当に、本当にワクワクしています。Vidictaと一緒にそこでパフォーマンスできるなんて、期待を遥かに超えています。初めて訪れる場所なら誰でもやりたいと思うようなことを、全部やってみたいですね。時間はあまりないと思いますが、夜の東京を散策するのは素晴らしい体験になると思います。
Q: リリスさん、お時間をいただきありがとうございました。私はこの企画を本当に楽しみにしています。
